CTA Section 41 Notice Repeal (SB 84) Passes Illinois House - Now Heads to Governor

May 13, 2009

On Wednesday, May 13, the Illinois House passed Senate Bill 84 by a vote of 82-32. Senate Bill 84, sponsored by Senator Ira Silverstein and Representative Al Riley, repeals in its entirety the notice requirement in Section 41. The one-year statute of limitations for filing suit against the CTA still applies The repeal will only apply to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date of when the bill becomes law.
