Don’t Swim Against the Tsunami – Edward Lazarus
Mr. Lazarus is a trial consultant who conducts focus groups and surveys and also consults on jury selection and the development of case themes. Mr. Lazarus worked at the DNC and White House and has worked with House and Senate Democratic Leadership. He will talk about the research he had done on common juror attitudes and beliefs and how not to run against them.
Juror’s Digital Footprints – Dr. Jo-Ellan Dimitrius
Dr. Dimitrius has been a trial consultant for over 30 years and has consulted in over 1,000 trials. She is an author and has participated as a jury consultant in many notable cases including the O.J. Simpson trial, the Night Stalker case, the Coppola trial and the Enron case. Dr. Dimitrius will provide insights and strategies for selecting juries utilizing social media and demographic data.
Rules of the Road for Medical Malpractice Cases – Patrick A. Malone
Patrick Malone is a graduate of the Yale School of Law and is an exceptional trial attorney and author. He has written numerous books including the ground-breaking “Rules of the Road.” He will speak on topics covered in his new book “Winning Medical Malpractice Cases with the Rules of the Road Technique.”
Leading Edge Tools for Trial – Dr. David Ball
Dr. David Ball is a well-known trial consultant and author. His best-selling books include “Reptile” and “David Ball on Damages”. He is a partner at Malekpour & Ball where he provides focus groups, case analysis and jury selection services. He will speak on case strategies, themes and jury selection.
Perceptions Really Are Reality – Eric Oliver
Eric Oliver is a respected speaker and author and has been a national trial consultant for over 35 years. Based on the premise that all legal judgments derive from how the facts and law are perceived, not how they are explained, he specializes in helping attorneys develop the presentation of a case as a story in any venue from mediation to trial. Eric will show how a more indirect approach to persuasion relying heavily on imagery is so essential, now more than ever because of today’s difficult jurors.
