To Voir Dire or Not Voir Dire: How Best to Eliminate Jurors with Implicit Bias – C. Rich Newsome – Newsome Melton / Orlando FL – Rich Newsome is the senior partner of Newsome Melton law firm. Rich graduated from the University of Florida College of Law for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida until 1993. Rich briefly worked for a product liability defense firm in Orlando representing manufacturers. For the past 20 years Rich has exclusively represented individuals and families in complex civil litigation cases involving defective products, commercial trucking, and catastrophic injuries. Rich was selected as the “Orlando Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers and received the Steven C. Sharpe Public Service Award from AAJ in recognition of his representation of Corey Burdick who was severely injured by a defective Takata airbag. He was recognized by the National Law Journal as having won two of the Nation’s 100 largest verdicts in 2018. Mr. Searcy is Past President of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the National Trial Lawyers. He has been inducted into the National Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame.

She chairs the Board of Trustees for the National College of Advocates. Julie is recognized as a SuperLawyer, a member of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, Best Lawyers in America and an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell. She received the 2017 B.J. Masterson Award from the Florida Justice Association, the 2017 ABA TIPS Pursuit of Justice Award and was recognized as one of the Top 20 2015 South Florida Women in Law by the Daily Business Review.
